Jeremy Orgel, MD - Three Decades of Psychiatry and Psychoanalysis
Jeremy Orgel, MD, is an experienced psychiatrist and psychoanalyst who has devoted his professional life to the diagnosis, treatment, and understanding of mental health conditions affecting adolescents and adults. For more than 30 years, Jeremy Orgel, MD, has provided psychiatric evaluations, psychotherapy, psychoanalysis, and medication management while helping patients navigate complex emotional, behavioral, and psychological challenges.
Dr. Orgel is licensed in California and Texas. He adopted a telehealth-based care model during the COVID-19 pandemic. Today, he provides psychiatric care through secure video and telephone consultations.
At St. Mary's Medical Center, he served as the attending psychiatrist for the adolescent inpatient unit of the McAuley Neuropsychiatric Institute from 1996 to 2021. In this role, he cared for adolescents facing acute psychiatric emergencies, including severe depression, anxiety disorders, bipolar disorder, psychotic illnesses, suicidal behavior, and other serious mental health conditions. He served as Medical Director for five of those years.
Since 2023, he has worked as a staff psychiatrist at Woodlands Internists in The Woodlands, Texas. Through comprehensive evaluations, medication management, and collaborative treatment planning, he helps improve patient outcomes while supporting a more integrated approach to health care. His expertise brings an additional level of psychiatric care to the practice and enhanced treatment options for many patients.
Since the beginning of 2026, Dr. Orgel has continued his remote work with patients in California and Texas, and has added in-person work, from his home location in Austin, TX.
